Prof. John BOWERS Receives the IEEE Jun-ichi Nishizawa Medal

Prof. John BOWERS, IAS Senior Visiting Fellow and Fred Kavli Chair in Nanotechnology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, has been chosen as the recipient of the 2024 Jun-ichi Nishizawa Medal from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his “contributions to photonic integrated circuit technologies”.

The IEEE Jun-ichi Nishizawa Medal, established in 2002, acknowledges exceptional achievements in material and device science and technology, encompassing practical applications. Nominations are evaluated based on the extent from the quality of the technical achievement to the impact on the profession and benefit to the society.
