Sir John PENDRY Wins the 2024 Kyoto Prize

Sir John PENDRY, IAS Senior Visiting Fellow and Chair Professor in Theoretical Solid State Physics at the Imperial College London, has been awarded the 2024 Kyoto Prize by the Inamori Foundation. He is recognized for his “contribution of the theoretical construction of metamaterials to the field of materials science”.

An international accolade of Japanese origin, the Kyoto Prize is bestowed upon individuals who have made remarkable contributions in the fields of science, technology, arts, and philosophy. Each recipient receives a diploma, a Kyoto Prize medal, and a prize money of 100 million yen per category.
