Biotherapeutics Company Co-founded by IAS Senior Visiting Fellow Received Government Funding for a Project which Could Lead to Breakthroughs in Disease Treatment
Together with HKUST, Pangu BioPharma, a Hong Kong subsidiary of the biotherapeutics company aTyr Pharma, Inc. co-founded by IAS Senior Visiting Fellow Prof. Paul SCHIMMEL, has been awarded a grant by the HKSAR’s Innovation and Technology Commission under the Partnership Research Program. The two-year project is to build a high-throughput platform for the development of bi-specific antibodies targeting Neuropilin-2, which has the potential to become a new class of therapies for the treatment of cancer and other serious diseases. Prof. ZHANG Mingjie, IAS Senior Fellow, Chair Professor of the Division of Life Science and Kerry Holdings Professor of Science, will join hands with researchers at the IAS HKUST - Scripps R&D Lab to participate in this project.
