IAS Visiting Professor awarded Fields Medal

IAS extends its congratulations to IAS Visiting Professor, Prof. Manjui BHARGAVA, for being selected as a laureate of the prestigious Fields Medal, which is often described as the “Nobel Prize of Mathematics”, in the quadrennial International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) held in Seoul, South Korea. This award is to recognize Prof. Bhargava’s work on developing powerful new methods in the geometry of numbers and applying them in elliptic curves. Fields Medal is only awarded to mathematicians not over 40 years of age at the year of ICM.
