Prof. Wang Xiaoping received his PhD Degree in mathematics from Courant Institute (NYU) in 1990. He was a postdoctoral at MSRI in Berkeley, University of Colorado in Boulder, and a visiting scholar at Princeton University before he came to HKUST in 1994. Since 2004, Prof. Wang is the Director of Croucher Laboratory on Multi-scale Modelling and Computation and Center for Scientific Computation in HKUST. In 2012, he became a Chair Professor of Mathematics in HKUST.
Prof. Wang received Feng Kang Prize of Scientific Computing, Chinese Academy of Science in 2007. At present, he serves as an editorial board member for the following journals: Applied Mathematics Research Express, Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems (B), Methods and Applications of Analysis, Japan Journal of Industrial and Applied Mathematics, Modeling and Computation for Flow and Transport.
