Prof. Li Jian-Shu obtained his PhD in mathematics from Yale University. Before he joined HKUST, he taught at the University of Maryland, College Park and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is currently Chair Professor of the Department of Mathematics at HKUST. He is also a researcher at the Center of Mathematical Sciences, and a long-time Guest Professor and doctoral advisor at the Department of Mathematics in Zhejiang University. He was elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014.
Prof. Li’s research interests include representation theory and automorphic forms. He is the current President of the Hong Kong Mathematical Society.
