Workshop on Arithmetic Geometry and Representation Theory
Co-ordinators
Prof. Li Jianshu Li (HKUST) and
Prof. Zhang Shou-Wu (Princeton University and Columbia University; HKUST IAS Visiting Member)
Overview
Arithmetic geometry and representation theory are two central topics in modern mathematics. The study of combination of these two subjects has provided powerful tools in modern number theory, and thereby yielded new results and proofs about L-functions, breakthroughs towards conjectures about algebraic cycles, and new perspectives on classical questions of representation theory. The aim of this workshop is to gather young leading researchers to brainstorm and identify new research ideas for further collaboration on the following precise topics:
1. Automorphic Forms
2. Shimura Varieties
3. p-adic and Geometric Langlands program
4. Cycles and Special Values of L-series
