Dr. Zhifeng Zhang received his PhD from Sun Yat-sen University in 2024. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems, before joining HKUST as a postdoctoral fellow in 2026. Dr. Zhang’s previous research has focused on topologically ordered phases in quantum many-body systems. His research interests extend more generally to conceptual and theoretically intriguing problems in condensed matter physics.

Dr. Zhang works with Prof. Haruki WATANABE, IAS and Department of Physics.
