Dr. Liane Slaughter focused on chemistry and nanomaterials during her undergraduate work at Cornell University and PhD with Stephan Link at Rice University. She expanded her explorations in nano- and surface- science during postdoctoral work with Profs Paul Weiss and Anne Andrews at the University of California at Los Angeles.

Dr. Slaughter joined HKUST as a Research Assistant Professor in September 2016 to work with Profs Angela Wu and Karl Herrup. She applies an understanding of chemistry and physics of surfaces and nanomaterials to improve upon existing bioanalytical tools.
