Dr. Yuning Hong received her BSc in Applied Chemistry from Sun Yat-sen University in 2006. After graduation, she joined Prof. Ben Zhong TANG's group in HKUST for her doctoral studies and obtained her PhD in 2011. She then worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Dartmouth College in Biophysical Chemistry for one year before returning to HKUST as a Research Assistant Professor. Dr. Hong is the author and co-author of over 40 scientific papers and inventor of six US patents and patent applications. Her current research interests focus on the development of novel luminescent materials and exploration of their biological applications including (1) recognition of important biological substances, (2) monitoring of conformational change processes of biomolecules, and (3) bio-imaging.
