Stueckelberg Portal into Dark Sectors

Abstract

In this talk, the speaker will introduce a type of scenario -"Stueckelberg Portal"- in which the Standard Model (SM) communicates with the hidden sector through heavy Z’ bosons. In such scenarios, sizeable interactions between the SM and the hidden sector arise from a large U(1) mass mixing induced by the Stueckelberg mechanism. The models present many interesting phenomenological features (e.g. Z’ SUSY breaking mediation, “hidden valleys”,…) and are yet simple and generic. In particular, chiral exotics do not need to be included to cancel anomalies. She will describe how the Stueckelberg Portal can be naturally implemented in string theory. An explicit toroidal intersecting D-brane model will be given as an extension of well known SM constructions. Finally she will discuss some related issues such as the possibility to get a light Z' from the Stuckelberg Portal, and milicharge dark matter in the presence of non-negligilble gauge kinetic mixing.
