Prof. Xuhua He received his PhD in mathematics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2005. He worked for the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and Stony Brook University before joining HKUST in 2008. He is currently an Associate Professor of Mathematics at HKUST.

Prof. He's research interests lie at the crossroads of algebraic group theory, representation theory, combinatorics, algebraic geometry, and arithmetic geometry. Joint with his collaborators, Prof. He has solved some long-standing open problems on Deligne-Lusztig theory and on Galois cohomology of algebraic groups.
