Dr. Lo Wing-Sze received her BSc in Biochemistry from HKUST in 2001. She then joined the Laboratory of Prof Hong Xue at HKUST for her doctoral studies and obtained her PhD in Biochemistry in 2006. After graduation, she joined IAS-Scripps R&D Laboratory, which is supervised by Prof. Paul SCHIMMEL (IAS Senior Visiting Member) and Prof. ZHANG Mingjie, and is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Lo has authored and co-authored about 10 scientific papers and is one of the inventors of a US patent. Her current research focuses on discovery of splice variants in human aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase and characterization of their extracellular signaling functions for human disease therapy.
