Dr. Chen Caiyun received her PhD from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021 before joining HKUST IAS as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the same year. During her PhD studies, Dr. Chen researched the dissociation of single molecule on surface and the synthesis as well as characterization of 2D materials by scanning tunneling microscopy/ spectroscopy (STM/STS). Her current research focuses on the novel phases of matter at atomic length scales.

Dr. Chen works with Prof. Berthold JAECK, Department of Physics.
