Former IAS Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Zhang Wen received her PhD in structural biology from the School of Biomedical Sciences of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2016. Before pursuing her PhD, she focused on structural studies of proteins in DNA damage repair pathway by using different approaches including X-ray crystallography, NMR and Small-Angle-X-Ray-Scattering (SAXS). As a PhD student and a postdoctoral fellow at HKU, Dr. Zhang studied the structure and function of virulence factors and neuronal motor proteins using X-ray crystallography, biochemical and cell biological approaches.

In 2018, Dr. Zhang joined Prof. Bik TYE’s lab in the Division of Life Science of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Since Mar 2019, she was appointed an IAS Postdoctoral Fellow researching how to use cryogenic electron microscopy to determine the structures of eukaryotic DNA replication machines and membrane proteins.

Dr. Zhang worked with IAS Senior Member Prof. TYE Bik-Kwoon and Prof. DANG Shangyu in the Division of Life Science.
