Dr. Ni Rong received her PhD in Biochemistry from Emory University in 2010. She joined the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBME) in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as a Research Associate in 2012. After working for three years at CBME, she has been appointed as Research Assistant Professor of Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (formerly Division of Biomedical Engineering) and Junior Fellow at the HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study since 2016. Her research mainly focuses on the viral mimicking through co-assembly of rational designed peptide with DNA/RNA. By regulation peptide sequence, she is devoted to new generation of synthetic “viruses” with viral-like structure and function.
