Dr. James Wong specializes in political studies. In 2013, he received his PhD in Government from the London School of Economics and Political Science. In 2014, he joined the HKUST to teach courses in political science and public policy.
Dr. Wong’s research revolves around environmental politics and policy, deliberative democracy and governance, and theories of institutional design. He is now focusing on environmental and democracy movements, environmental governance and the state, and epistemic approaches to deliberative democracy.
Dr. Wong was Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Social Science and the Division of Public Policy at HKUST. He is Junior Fellow at the HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study and Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.
