Research Assistant Professor of Physics, HKUST

Dr. Ting Pong Choy received his BSc in Physics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2003. He received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008 for understanding the effects of strong Coulomb interactions on the normal state properties of high temperature superconductors. Dr. Choy joined the Department of Physics at the University of Toronto and the Instituut-Lorentz for theoretical physics at the Leiden University as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2008 and 2010, respectively. He has authored over 10 papers in Phys. Rev. Lett. and Phys. Rev. B, etc. His current research interests include the effects of interactions and disorders on topological superconductors and insulators, and the quantum disorder ground states in various frustrated magnets.
