Superposition of Gravitational Fields. The Example of Gravitational Plane Waves
Abstract
Although general relativity is well-known to be a non-linear theory, it becomes linear for a large class of spacetimes in some particular gauge (frame). Interesting examples are worked out.
About the Speaker
Prof. Enrique Alvarez is an emeritus full professor at UAM (Madrid) and a permanent member of IFT UAM/CSIC of which he is a founding member. He has worked much on Kaluza-Klein theories and abelian and non abelian T-duality. His recent lines of work are unimodular gravity and theoretical aspects of gravitational waves.
