Overview

Hailed by the Financial Times as a festival with a “finely hewn sense of craft,” Intimacy of Creativity (IC) – The Bright Sheng Partnership: Composers Meet Performers in Hong Kong returns for another innovative season from 24 June 2023 to 2 July 2023, presented in partnership with the renowned Curtis Institute of Music.

We are excited to announce the Composer Fellows for Intimacy of Creativity 2023 — The Bright Sheng Partnership: Composers Meet Performers in Hong Kong!

From over 100 applications, spanning over 20 countries of origin, the following emerging composers have been selected for this year’s festival: Angela SLATER (United Kingdom), Adrian WONG (Hong Kong), and Bracha BDIL (Israel). They will join Prof. Bright Sheng, IAS Helmut and Anna Pao Sohmen Professor-at-Large, and distinguished guest artists to present and revise their music through in-depth open discussions at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), and at the concerts at HKUST Shaw Auditorium and Hong Kong City Hall Theatre.
