Cosmological Signatures of New Particles
Abstract
Despite the tremendous success of Standard Model (SM) of particle physics, several mysteries remain unsolved. For example, the nature of dark matter is not known. New particles which are not included in the SM may be one of the keys to solve the problem. In this talk, the speaker will discuss several new particles, including elko, symplectic fermions, etc. She will discuss their cosmological signatures, how they can be produced in the early universe and the possibility of them to become candidates for dark matter. These theories may be non-Hermitian, so the speaker will also introduce some interesting aspects of non-Hermitian theory.
About the Speaker
Prof. ZHOU Siyi obtained her bachelor's degree in physics in 2014 from the University of Science and Technology in China, followed by her PhD in physics from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2019. She did postdoc in Stockholm University from 2019 to 2021 and Kobe University from 2021 to 2023. She is now an associate professor in the physics department of Chongqing University.
