Leptogenesis from Heavy Higgs Relaxation
Abstract
Symmetry breaking during inflation can lead to heavy lifting of the Higgs scale for gauge fields. The speaker and his collaborators consider leptogenesis due to the post-inflationary relaxation of the heavy Higgs condensate form the initial scale of symmetry breaking led by the slow-roll dynamics of inflation. They identified a new class of Higgs relaxation triggered by the rapid oscillation of inflation immediately following the phase of slow roll. They realized that inflation can act as external force during the relaxation process and uncover a wide range of parameter space for a successful leptogenesis in the setup up of effective field theory.
