Aero / Fluid Dynamics and Acoustics
Overview
The IAS symposium on Aero/Fluid Dynamics and Acoustics aims to provide a forum for scientists, engineers, and students who are interested in the recent development and innovation in aerodynamics, complex fluid dynamics, and acoustic research. The symposium will focus on the latest trends and findings, and to enable the participants to discuss their particular field(s) of interests. The symposium will include eight invited speakers, who are Prof Alexander Smits of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at Princeton University, and Prof Sanjiva K. Lele of Aeronautics and Astronautics Department at Stanford University, and six local scholars working in the area of aero/fluid dynamics and acoustics. The topics of the symposium will cover the research on turbulence flows at high Reynolds number, shock-turbulence interactions, aero-elastic coupling, direct numerical modeling, aero-acoustics, and flow controls, and state of art engineering applications.
