Prof. Haruki WATANABE Received 2026 Frontiers of Science Award (FSA) in Physics

We are thrilled to congratulate Prof. Haruki Watanabe, IAS Professor and Professor of Physics, on winning the prestigious 2026 Frontiers of Science Award (FSA) in Condensed Matter Physics. The International Congress for Basic Science (ICBS) awarded this top honor to Prof. Watanabe, recognizing his groundbreaking research on symmetry-based indicators.

He officially accepted the award at a grand ceremony in Beijing on August 9, 2026, and took the stage on August 12 to deliver an exclusive invited lecture on his award-winning work,  “Symmetry-based Indicators of Band Topology”.
